The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Since 1996, Troy Biddix has served as a tax partner at Deloitte Tax, a Detroit firm he joined nine years earlier. Involved with several professional organizations, Troy Biddix is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), which is one component of the International Association of Certified Public Accountants (IACPA). IACPA gathers CPAs from across the world to help them grow in their careers and advocate for the profession.

IACPA is an organization comprising AICPA and CEMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Combined, they serve nearly 700,000 CPAs and accounting students worldwide in over 190 countries. In the United States, the AICPA administers the Uniform CPA Examination and enforces best practices within the profession. It helps professionals at all stages of their careers learn new skills, find new positions, and keep informed on changes in their industry.

AICPA offers several membership types. To join, members need to agree to follow the Code of Professional Conduct and Bylaws and complete at least 120 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) every three years. AICPA’s five individual membership types fulfill professionals’ evolving needs, whether they are a college student interested in accounting, a candidate for the CPA exam, or a licensed accounting professional abroad. Alongside access to exclusive benefits like email newsletters, print magazines, and online CPE materials, members receive discounts on insurance, retirement plans, and popular brands.
